On Sunday, May 16, WWOZ in conjunction with SDT Waste and Debris, Mardi Gras World, and Rehage Entertainment presented Gulf Aid, a benefit concert to raise funds for efforts to stop the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico from destroying our wetlands, as well as for fishermen and their families. The concert ran from 2 p.m. to 10:15 p.m. at Mardi Gras World River City in New Orleans. The event is also sponsored by the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival Foundation.
WWOZ broadcasted many acts live from the concert.
