Oak Street Po-Boy Fest returns this Sunday, November 22 with live music and, of course, copious amounts of delicious po-boys. The festival runs through the Oak St. business corridor, from Carrollton to Eagle. Forty different food vendors will be there to fill you up, along with an art market, history center (curated by WWOZ and Jerry Brock of the Louisiana Music Factory), and two stages hosting live local music. The festival runs from 10a-6p and is free. See the full music schedule below.
Businesses and venues along the festival streets will be hosting additional live music, including the Maple Leaf, Oak Wine Bar, Live Oak Cafe and more. The Mater Dolorosa Church will host the 'Where Y'at' Art Market in its courtyard, where twenty-five artists will be sharing and selling the fruits of their labor from 10a-4p.
A Po-Boy Fest Race kicks the day off at 8a. Registration begins at 7a at the corner of Leak & Eagle St. The church’s Parish House on Carrollton will host the Oak Street History Center starting at 1:30p. Guest speakers include the former curator of the New Orleans Jazz Museum, Justin Winston.
