Crescent City Blues & BBQ Fest: Oct. 18 - 19

David "Honeyboy" Edwards photo by Mark Brockway of Natchez, MSThe New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Foundation presents its third annual celebration of the blues this weekend, featuring many of the top performers from southern Louisiana and Mississippi, plus delicious food and unique visual art. Check out some highlights from the festival.

WWOZ will be broadcasting live from the Crescent City Blues & BBQ Festival, which will be held in Lafayette Square on Saturday, October 18 from 9:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, October 19 from 10:15 a.m. to 7:15 p.m. 

Some of the artists we will be broadcasting on Saturday include Kenny Neal, J. Monque'D and WWOZ's own Marc Stone with Vasti Jackson. On Sunday, we'll be broadcasting live performances from Walter "Wolfman" Washington, Johnny Sansone and Marva Wright & the BMWs.

Other highlights of the festival include performances by legendary bluesman David "Honeyboy" Edwards, Little Freddie KingCedric Burnside & Lightnin' Malcolm,  and John Mooney. Booksigning for The Johnny Adams Story

On Saturday, October 18 at 2 p.m., Mrs. Judy Adams, widow of the late, great Johnny Adams, will sign copies of her new brand-new book, The Johnny Adams Story, a loving memoir of her life with of one of the finest singers of the 20th century. The signing will take place at Louisiana Music Factory's retail tent at the Crescent City Blues & BBQ Festival in Lafayette Square Park.
